Reggie + Vanessa | Pike Place & Mt. Rainier Couple Session

Reggie contacted me from LA, letting me know he’d be coming up for a visit with Vanessa, and that he wanted to capture their time together in a big way. We started at Pike Place (it’s always a bit of a shooting challenge for me with lighting and CROWDS, but I’m always surprisingly happy with the result0. It’s just a gritty, Seattle-y, grungy spot. After that, we made the big trek out to Rainier where it was absolutely POURING slushy snow-rain and we kept falling into the snow piles up at Paradise, splitting our sides laughing. I’ll always remember that.

Thanks, Reggie and Vanessa, for a super fun day!

Enjoy.

MaiLinh + Jake | Ballard Locks Winter Engagement

Winter means engagement sessions! It’s my favorite way to get to know my wedding couples, to find out what makes them laugh and to see the way they interact with each other. I’m always thrilled and grateful for the little glimpse into their lives.

We started this session with their EXTREMELY spry 8-year-old dog, and when life got too overstimulating for her, we continued on our own. :) I don’t get to spend enough time at the Locks, but they’re such an iconic part of Seattle history. On this particular day, a big day-cruise boat with Christmas EVERYTHING came through and made a performance, so it was busier than usual, but it’s usually a quiet escape in the city.

Enjoy.

Deception Pass Couple Session

Brittani and Connor are the ultimate sweet love story.  They met and started dating in high school, got married and moved to Seattle with the Navy.  Brittani has an amazing YouTube channel where she shares her experience as a military spouse and just life in general!  Connor gets on now and then too and it's so fun to watch their story.  Check it out here.

We headed out in some brutal Everett traffic but we made it to Deception Pass and guys -- NO ONE WAS THERE.  It was kind of crazy, because it was the Friday night of Memorial Day weekend.  I've been up there several times, but I've never had such free reign.  It was pretty amazing!  We wandered around the amazing park and my photographer heart was in heaven.  Such beautiful lighting and so many great spots to shoot.  My absolute favorite part of couple sessions is watching the couple unwind and play together -- the pressure falls away and you just get into this amazing groove and make beautiful images.  Heart meets art, for sure.

Enjoy the session!  :)
