Camille + Erik | Upper Queen Anne Seattle Engagement

On a quiet morning before Thanksgiving, I met up with Camille & Erik for their engagement photos. They’re currently living on opposite coasts with school, so we had to be super strategic about timing! Luckily we had a classic, beautiful Seattle winter day. Not quite raining, but with low hanging clouds and a feeling of coziness that is reserved for those lights-on-inside, family-is-gathering vibes that, when I bend myself to acceptance, are some of the best parts of the Seattle winters.

We decided on Upper Queen Anne for its overgrowth, its stony walkways and grand streets, and its open air and fort-like elevation above the world. When I first moved to Seattle this is where I lived, and in some ways, it will always feel a little like home. Taking walks with my husband in this very spot, years before I started my business, years before we had a baby, and years before my life would change forever from the amazing people I get to meet in doing this job. I’m always amazed at how unique each love story is and humbled by the couple’s willingness to let me in for a small glimpse of something so precious.

Keegan + Colin | Seattle In Home Session

We celebrated their new home (and new kitten OMG) with a photo sesh. Indoor shoots are always a bit of a mystery when it comes to light, but I loved the way the sun beamed through the window and cast a harsh spot right through the center of their place. You’ll see it! No two days are the same, even in the same home, so light is the biggest changing factor. Whether it’s dark and rainy or bright and sunny, an in-home session will usually always work. Feast your eyes!
