Ally + Josh | A Seattle Mountain Engagement

When these two reached out about their incredible wedding at the Astor Ruins next spring, I dearly, dearly hoped that we could work together. Ally’s vision for the day includes a sunrise first look and a morning ceremony overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Count. Me. In.

Meeting creative couples who really create their wedding day around their uniqueness make this job so much fun. Your wedding is such a great chance to pull out the stops and do a party YOUR way.

Also, Ally taught me this morning that chickens are the closest living relative of dinosaurs and now I want a daily fact.

Enjoy.

Rachel + Jon | A Vintage Meets Modern Romantic Winter Wedding in West Seattle

When I first met Rachel we connected over FaceTime for a few minutes to chat about her wedding. She told me her story about how she and Jon met and fell in love in a whirlwind and they just couldn’t wait to call it forever. I met them for their engagement session and fell in love with both of them, and would also like to call it forever.

On their wedding day, they were just so keyed into each other. There was no stress. It was so easy. Just that kind of wedding where you can tell that this couple was MEANT to be together. One of the highlights was their sweet first look in the natural light of the 100-year-old church attached to Trinity in West Seattle. It had the most amazing other-worldliness in its decay and beauty. I also loved the super unique glowstick exit at their reception!

Every single detail was just lovely — romantic deep reds and lace and the most lush florals created by the amazing planning team at Leigh & Mitchell. The aisle lined in candles and greenery made for a romantic and intimate feel paired with the dim light of Trinity’s stained glass windows. The dance floor was probably one of the most packed and INSANE ever — so much fun and energy. You’ll see.

Enjoy.

Tara + Scott | A Snowy Seattle Winter Couple's Session

This has been the craziest February! I’ve lived in Seattle for five years and cannot believe how much snow we’ve seen this winter. In Chicago, where I’m from, this would be totally normal, but here it’s just so magical and fun. I love seeing how the landscape transforms when covered with a crisp dusting of beautiful white snow. It clings to the trees and makes them sleepy under its weight, and there’s a hush that comes over the world as we bundle and hibernate until the damn roads are finally clear! I’m secretly in love with the entrapment, though.

Tara & Scott braved the snow and arrived in a big, sturdy truck that could handle it well — and I hopped in and we made our way to this cozy little grove for some fun.

Enjoy.
