 WEDDING FAQ

WHAT DO I GET WHEN I WORK WITH YOU?

You get beautiful images in a gallery that somehow capture your truth and tell your story, and project you in your best light. But you also get more. I invest in my couples. I want to see you joyful on your day. That means low stress, being there for the right reasons, and serving you with my heart and creativity. I care about you as a human, not just a photo subject. I’ll connect with you on that real human level and you’ll see your real self in your photos.

DO YOU REQUIRE A DEPOSIT TO BOOK?

A 50% deposit is required to hold your wedding day, and the remainder of your balance is due one month before your wedding day. Because I block off your date and am unavailable to take on any other work, your reservation fee is due at the time of booking and isn’t refundable. Rescheduling & cancellation guidelines are outlined in our contract.

HOW DO YOU ACCEPT PAYMENT?

Payment is accepted via any major credit card or personal check.

HOW LONG WILL MY PHOTOS TAKE, AND HOW WILL WE RECEIVE THEM?

I know how excited you are to get your images back! The day goes by so quickly, and your photos are a great way to remember all the amazing moments. I work with a 6-8 week turnaround time, which is pretty quick! It gives me enough time to make sure your gallery is my best work and gets to you while the excitement is fresh. For all full wedding collections, your images will be delivered in a beautiful online gallery that can be downloaded unlimited times and shared with friends and family.

HOW MANY IMAGES WILL WE GET?

I shoot a lot of images on your wedding day. More than you will want to get back. A big part of my process is culling it down to images that represent the day, and reflect you as a couple. In the planning process I get to know you and learn what you value, and tailor my shooting approach around that information. In general, you can expect about 50 images per hour as a baseline.

WHAT’S YOUR EDITING STYLE?

So much of it depends on the lighting in a given location or the weather. My style is to tell an honest and heartfelt story of your day with a fine art approach. My images are warm, dreamy, authentic, romantic, and heartfelt. I look for beautiful lighting, be it dim and overcast or bright and sunny. Your images should be an accurate reflection of the day, not just my editing style.

ARE YOU A TRADITIONAL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER OR MORE ARTISTIC?

I believe in images that tell a story. For me, this is not about taking only posed shots. Understandably, it can be important to have some formal family photos. It’s important to have a few of you smiling and looking at the camera. It’s also important, arguably even more important, to have images that capture the emotion of the day and the interaction between the two of you. I look for small details and gestures, and when it comes to portraits I give prompts that create lively and flattering photos that display your unique bond.

SHOULD WE DO A FIRST LOOK?

Your day goes by fast. It’s a beautiful whirlwind, but for many couples, a first look is an opportunity to slow down the pace of the day and recall why you’re here in the first place! It’s also lots of fun and quite suspenseful. As a photographer, I love this time because it allows for beautiful bridal portraits that might feel rushed later on in the day!

DOES IT COST TO HAVE YOU TRAVEL?

I love to travel for weddings! For locations over an hour from Seattle I issue a travel fee. Please inquire for more details.

YOU SAY YOU OFFER A CUSTOM TIMELINE -- WHAT IS THAT?

To ensure I’m in the right place at the right time and that you get the photos you want, we collaborate on a general timeline for how the day will be carried out. If you have a planner I usually work with them as well.
