Deception Pass Couple Session

Brittani and Connor are the ultimate sweet love story.  They met and started dating in high school, got married and moved to Seattle with the Navy.  Brittani has an amazing YouTube channel where she shares her experience as a military spouse and just life in general!  Connor gets on now and then too and it's so fun to watch their story.  Check it out here.

We headed out in some brutal Everett traffic but we made it to Deception Pass and guys -- NO ONE WAS THERE.  It was kind of crazy, because it was the Friday night of Memorial Day weekend.  I've been up there several times, but I've never had such free reign.  It was pretty amazing!  We wandered around the amazing park and my photographer heart was in heaven.  Such beautiful lighting and so many great spots to shoot.  My absolute favorite part of couple sessions is watching the couple unwind and play together -- the pressure falls away and you just get into this amazing groove and make beautiful images.  Heart meets art, for sure.

Seattle Motherhood Session | Discovery Park

I think it's equal parts anticipation of our little one and the wonder of the bond between mothers and children, but I'm absolutely LOVING motherhood photo sessions.  It's such a great gift to give to yourself and to your children.  I've talked to many friends and we all feel like we don't have enough photos of ourselves with our own moms.  Just a few here and there from birthday parties and vacations, if we're lucky!  There's something so magical about these to me -- the subject is so specific, tangible and deeply felt.  Full family sessions are wonderful, and I highly recommend a yearly session for young families, but motherhood sessions feel unique and special.  I loved watching these two interact and just spend a warm sunny evening hanging out, nothing else to do but be there together in that moment.  That alone is a win in our busy daily lives!  Hope you love them as much as I do.

We enjoyed a beautiful day in Pioneer Square for our photoshoot!  Special thanks to London Plane for allowing us to use your beautiful space.  Liz and I both love it for the amazing food and beautiful flowers.  It's the best place for weekend brunch in Pioneer Square!  Thanks also, to Clementine's for having us in your beautiful shop to get more clothing photos.  Liz brings clients to a variety of stores, and Clementine's has such a fun flavor! 

Vantage Love

It's getting to that point of winter in Seattle where we are just READY for SUN!  Luckily we have some coming next week, but I just couldn't wait!  I grabbed my friends, the Silvas, and we drove across the pass to Vantage, WA where the land buckles in round rolling hills and tumbleweeds roll.  Also, evidently, where the wind blows gale force!  It turned out to be totally worth it.  How stunning is Adrianna in this gown?!  This is definitely a location I want to come back to -- any takers?
