Summer Makeup Situation

Now that summer has finally arrived in Seattle (the weeks of longingly looking upon everyone else’s summer posts on Instagram are no longer a weight across my sad chest), I’m finding my groove and wanting to simplify my routine to maximize the amount of time I can spend outside soaking up the beautiful weather. We’re always playing nap time hopscotch with the kids, so when everyone’s up, fed, changed and ready, you need to be READY!

Sleepwear That Makes Me Feel Like an Actual Thriving Lady

I don’t know about you, but when it comes to pajamas my MO had always been convenience and comfort over style. I wore the same cotton shorts and whatever tee for years and years. It never felt special, it always felt like resigning myself to blah-dom. I thought that stylish pajamas were uncomfortable (remember: flannel and lace nightgowns a la 1997, for my fellow millennials?).

Getting to the point: when this Lunya set arrived I was shocked at how much of this design is literally designed for my comfort. Not to mention the washable silk is absolutely gorgeous and the drape of the fit is stunning and falls somewhere between breezy and sexy. (The latter is a word I’m working on taking back from a youth in purity culture, and is feeling good and empowering to use these days.)

After satisfaction after a few spins in front of my mirror I knew the true test would be sleeping in this. Best. Sleep. Ever. The waistband has little grip beads so the shorts don’t twist and the top, even with the low v, didn’t twist and reveal a truly nude self in the morning.

Everyday Activewear that Doesn't Disappoint

I’ve never been one to wear activewear out and about unless I’m doing something, well, active. I’m a dedicated and tried and true jeans-wearer and will find a way to sneak denim into about any occasion. So, I was pretty surprised when I felt 100% at home and comfortable in a crop tank and shorts from Knix. I’ve known them for their period products, but recently discovered that they also have an excellent line of activewear and I’m really excited to be sporting it.

The crop tank is just the right amount of crop, and I love the square neckline. I especially love that it has a built in shelf bra and does NOT have those irritating pads that always come out of place when you wash! I don’t need a reason to put off exercising! The shorts do not roll, dig, ride up or otherwise inconvenience the wearer in the slightest. I found both to be a tiny bit stiff the first wear and after a wear and a wash have found actual bliss in all day activewear. They’ve performed well on my Peloton, during a HIIT workout, and yesterday afternoon when we went out for lunch on our weekend trip. I added an oversize buttondown in a last-minute grab from our Airbnb to make it feel like an outfit, and loved the result.
