Trinity Tree Farm Wedding | Seattle Wedding Photographer

Allie and Andy’s wedding day was so anticipated after the long year of shutdowns. We took their engagement photos exactly a year before their wedding (which was super cute and special), and I remember thinking that there would be NO WAY the pandemic would stretch that far. Regardless, restrictions were lifted and it made for a day of so much celebration. The feeling of joyful togetherness was tangible, and the dance floor was packed the entire night (shoutout to Sounds Unlimited!).

Shooting a wedding at Trinity Tree Farm is a photographer’s dream, because it has the iconic PNW/Seattle feel with the mountains and the tall evergreens, and the lodge building gets the most gorgeous natural light through its entire walls of windows. As the sun went down it created such a cozy glow in their reception for guests to enjoy going back and forth between the bar, dancing, and the beautiful property complete with a s’mores pit.

Wishing them a lifetime of happiness!

The Foundry by Herban Feast Wedding | Seattle Wedding Photographer

Such a simple and sweet day with the loveliest of couples. Jane and Caleb had postponed their wedding due to the pandemic and their celebration became much smaller than originally planned. It made for such an easy and relaxed day with their loved ones amongst the stunning work of the talented team that created the atmosphere for a sophisticated dinner party.

Seattle Garden + Equestrian Farm Wedding

I loved the way this wedding came together. With over a decade of love between them, Payton and Brian tied the knot on their original dating anniversary. The details were so much fun, including a silver star Hayley Paige wedding dress and florals galore to make this a rustic meets glam Seattle wedding. At the center of all of it was joy, ease, love and celebration. Payton and Brian and their family and friends have a way of pulling you right in and I felt like I was part of the story in such a great way.

Salvage One Chicago Wedding | Seattle + Chicago Wedding Photographer

My earliest memories of my cousin Courtney are running rampant in my Aunt Jeanne’s garden on Easter, wearing itchy dresses and running high on sugar, holiday parties and 4th of Julys in the early aughts with tanned midwestern skinned knees and cousin-pileups for a photo. We come from a big family.

Needless to say, it was an honor beyond honors to be asked to photograph her wedding. It’s hitting me more and more just how incredibly amazing it is to be the memory-maker in that way. These are the photos that define and make real this moment in life. They’ll be printed and passed and hung and tacked and put in boxes and unearthed again and again over the next century or so as the hands that hold them weather and change and life goes on. I know, this sounds a little poetic, but I think it’s the pause after the crazy wedding season that is removing me from the minutiae and giving me that precious glimpse of big-picture that keeps the fire burning.

Anyway, onto this beautiful day. They were married at Salvage One in Chicago. It’s a super cool venue that doubles as a large antique store. There’s incredible stained glass, custom furniture pieces that stun, neon signs, light-up robots, reclaimed church pews, Grecian columns, a flying pegasus, and so much more. It allowed for their decor to accent in subtle ways without trying to overcome. They opted for greenery and candles on tables, which positively glowed and added to the ambiance. Courtney’s Hayley Paige dress had a life of its own in the way it swished and glided around first the city of Chicago and then the venue itself. Never having been a super princess-y girl, we were stunned at how romantic her dress was. And it was so perfect.
